About Senay Beraki
In 2021, I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Biomedical Research. My curiosity, passion, and interest in research have grown through various research experiences and exposures. While pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I participated in two research projects at UCLA (Thomas Vallim Lab and Martina Roos Lab) and a research internship at the Center for Dark Energy Biosphere Investigations (C-DEBI) at the University of Southern California. After graduating, I took a gap year to develop my research skills further and successfully applied for a Research Assistant position in Dr. Jay Vadgama's lab with the Division of Cancer Research and Training at Charles R. Drew University (CDU). After a year of fruitful lab work, I was admitted to the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program at CDU and graduated as a member of the Class of 2023.
