Dr. Sencer Ecer is a Senior Vice President at Compass Lexecon and a former Principal at LECG in Washington, DC. He brings over two decades of experience managing high-stakes matters in antitrust and international arbitration. His expertise spans economic and econometric analysis related to mergers, collusion, exclusionary conduct, regulatory disputes, and damages quantification, with significant sectoral experience in pharmaceuticals, electricity, telecommunications, and tourism. Dr. Ecer leads sophisticated empirical assessments involving market definition, competitive dynamics, price effects, efficiencies, and consumer harm. He manages multidisciplinary teams of economists and data analysts, oversees project timelines and budgets, and reviews all deliverables to ensure technical rigor and analytical precision. As a primary liaison to legal counsel, he translates complex economic findings into compelling, litigation-ready narratives and supports expert testimony in both U.S. and international legal proceedings. In parallel, Dr. Ecer contributes to strategic firm initiatives by identifying emerging trends in antitrust enforcement—particularly in algorithmic pricing practices—and translating these into practice-building opportunities. He is actively engaged in publishing, public policy dialogue, and mentoring professionals to foster both analytical excellence and leadership development. Dr. Ecer earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a former Professor and Department Chair at Istanbul Technical University, where he helped establish the Department of Economics. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown, Koç, and Sabancı Universities, teaching Microeconomics and Health Economics across all levels.
