Hi, I’m Sereko Erasmus – a passionate, driven professional at the early stages of an exciting journey in healthcare, research, and data analysis. With a strong academic foundation in Human Genetics and Cellular Physiology, I have honed my skills in scientific research, data interpretation, and problem-solving. My Honours research, which explored genetic variants affecting statin responses in hypercholesterolemia patients, ignited a deeper passion for uncovering insights that can transform patient care and shape the future of medicine. Currently, as a Preauthorization Consultant, I navigate high-pressure scenarios daily, providing clarity and support to individuals during critical medical moments. My role combines clinical expertise, interpersonal skills, and a meticulous approach to ensure smooth authorizations for complex procedures. Previously, as a Fly@UP Ambassador, I had the privilege of guiding students to overcome academic challenges, which strengthened my ability to communicate, mentor, and collaborate effectively. I am deeply committed to advancing my career in research and research writing. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to fields like environmental health, oncology, and healthcare innovation. I am particularly interested in research that bridges science and policy to address pressing global health challenges. Equipped with certifications in clinical research and proficiency in tools like Power BI, Excel, and statistical analysis, I aim to leverage these skills to drive impactful outcomes.
