About Serena Cecco

Freelance interpreter and translator, lecturer, practioner and language consultant: I have worked for agencies and companies in various sector (mechanics, furniture, waste management, legal firms, medical devices and many more), and for public entities (Chamber of Commerce, Province of Padua, Veneto Region.). I am interested in researching and applying innovative teaching methods in Interpreting studies and Language Learning. I have been studying and practising improvisation theatre with Associazione culturale Cambiscena (Padua, Italy) for 10 years. Since 2004 lecturer: Bachelor's Degree at Ca’ Foscari University, School of Economics, Languages and Entrepreneurship, Treviso; Master’s Degree in Interpreting and Translation, at Ca’ Foscari University, School of Economics, Languages and Entrepreneurship, Treviso; Master’s Degree, UNIT, Campus Padua; Bachelor's Degree at Advanced School for Linguistic Mediation Dante; Bachelor's Degree at Advanced School for Language Mediation CIELS. Currently involved in developing new training methods applying techniques from improvisation theatre (among other Interpret-AZIONE, in cooperation with Andrea Masiero, IATE-TermCoord, cooperation with the Terminological Unit of the EU). I have been teaching languages, mainly English, for more than 10 years to young students and adults, at elementary to intermediate level, and in specialised courses: Business English, English at the Hotel, Deutsch im Hotel. Since 2003 I have been official authorised guide for the Province of Padua.
