About Serena Nelson

As a graduated student from Marist College in the Paralegal Certificate Program, it has prepared me for a career in the legal field. I have learned the fundamentals of legal research, writing, and ethics, as well as the practical skills of drafting documents, interviewing clients, and managing cases. In addition to my paralegal studies, I also hold a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Science at SUNY New Paltz, where I have gained a broad understanding of the political and social issues that affect our society. I have also studied the Japanese language for two years and American Sign Language for one year, which has enhanced my intercultural competence and communication skills. Through my internships at Jen Metzger's Senator Campaign and Ulster County Youth Bureau, I have applied my knowledge and skills in real-world settings. I have contributed to report writing, team work, and creativity, as well as supported the campaign's outreach and advocacy efforts and the youth bureau's programs and services. I am motivated by my passion for law and politics, and my goal is to use my education and experience to make a positive impact on the communities I serve. I am eager to learn from professionals in the field and to expand my network and opportunities. I am a reliable, adaptable, and critical thinker who can handle challenges and deliver results.
