Background

About Sergey Filatev

Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Lead with 6+ years of experience in backend development and 3+ years in team leadership. Specialized in Golang, microservices, and building high-load distributed systems. At Karuna, I led a team of PHP and Golang developers, combining hands-on engineering with project management. My responsibilities included creating grading systems, preparing personal development plans, aligning engineering with business priorities, and ensuring timely delivery through clear planning and technical leadership. Previously, I designed and built antifraud and authorization systems from scratch using Go, Kafka, Redis, and Docker. I implemented architecture decisions (ADR), set up CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), and established full observability with Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, and Grafana. I also mentored engineers and drove engineering excellence through standardization, code quality, and automation. Strong system thinking, proactive ownership, and a focus on real-world impact make me a valuable contributor to fast-moving product teams and large-scale platforms.
