About Sergey Savintsev

Prior to changing my focus to IT, I had five years of experience in mechanical design engineering and robotics. Had to work under high load, juggling multiple projects at a time, organizing work of my department and handling communication with clients and upper management. Thanks to that, I got pretty good at project managing and planning. Had organized workflow for developing new projects as fast as possible with our limited resources. In search to feel my knowledge gaps, I got my hands on a copy of "The Goal '' novel by Goldratt. This book piqued my interest in the project management field. I delved deeper into literature about project management about theory of constraints and lean manufacturing ("The Toyota Way"). Through this journey I discovered DevOps philosophy and CI/CD. These showed me a way to combine my interests in problem solving, automation and project management. Which was a final push for me to change my field to IT.
