About Sergi Morais
As PI and co-investigator on competitive funded grants, i laid the groundwork for the developing DNA and protein microarray based biosensors as sensitive, robust, portable and rapid devices for the detection of low molecular weight compounds (toxins, pollutants), biomarkers (antigens, antibodies), microorganisms, etc. over several audio-video surfaces such as CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray, light-scribe and high-transmission discs, using the standard disc drive as chemical detector. I have demonstrated expertise in the biosensing area with strong background in bioanalytical techniques (ELISA, ELIFA, HPLC, GC-MS, MALDI-TOF, SPR, DNA/protein microarrays) and hands-on experience in bioconjugation chemistry, protein purification, labeling, antibody production and DNA/protein microarraying with more than 20 years of active experience, being coauthor of 62 peer-reviewed papers and 7 patents.
