Background
About Sergio Chois
Hi! I’m Sergio Chois. I’m a twenty-something from West Palm Beach, studying Theology at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. I recently graduated from Southeastern University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. My academic journey has been enriched with practical experiences that have honed my skills and deepened my passion for biblical scholarship. During my time at Southeastern, I had the privilege of serving as a Bible & Theology Tutor at the Academic Center for Enrichment (ACE) from August 2023 to April 2024. In this role, I provided academic support to students, helping them navigate the complexities of Biblical Hebrew, Koine Greek, and both the Hebrew Bible and New Testament studies. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Kenneth J. Archer from January 2022 to April 2024, where I gained invaluable experience in academic administration and teaching. I am skilled in using Brightspace LMS Core and the Google Suite to enhance the learning experience. My expertise lies in Biblical Scholarship, particularly in the areas of Hebrew Bible and New Testament studies, and ancient languages. One of my most rewarding experiences was being part of the leadership team for the Student Theology Club. In this role, I facilitated student-led discussions that engaged the greater student body in meaningful theological discourse. I hold a Level 1 CRLA Certification from the International Tutor Training Program, which I earned through my tutoring role at ACE. My aspiration is to become a biblical studies professor, contributing to the long tradition of Christian academia and helping train the next generation of ministers. I am deeply passionate about the importance of biblical scholarship, from understanding ancient languages to applying these insights in modern contexts.
