I’m a former restauranteur turned business broker. I spend my days plying a decade’s worth of experience to help people buy and sell businesses. My favorite days are those where I’m networking, out “beating the streets”. I enjoy meeting everyday entrepreneurs, getting feedback from the front line on how Main Street USA business owners are faring. I like to step back and get a feel for a location, a business, a neighborhood. Every day I seem to come back with a unique story. Some days, when the timing is just right, I meet another owner who’s looking to move on to the next chapter of their career, and I’m the man who makes that happen! That initial excitement is great, but it’s the work along the way that’s the challenge: the devil is most definitely in the details. It’s an art form to highlight the true potential of a business, to let buyers in the market know that “this diamond-in-the-rough may fit your grand plans perfectly”! Creating marketing packages, analyzing financial statements, poring over leases to ensure assignability, negotiating offers, navigating escrows through to close … the journey can be nerve-wracking, but rest assured I walk my clients through every step of the process. When I’m not closing deals or on the streets chatting up entrepreneurs, I'm sailing into the sunset in Newport or Long Beach, wishing I could shoot par on the front nine, or hiking Laguna’s beautiful ocean view trails.
