About Sergio Muriel

An Executive Leader with over 20 years experience as a healthcare professional. My passion lies in helping individuals and families that are affected by mental health & addiction. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addiction Professional, A.R.I.S.E. Intervention trained, EMDR trained, as well as a Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida, and an Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. I graduated with honors from Florida Atlantic University with a Master's Degree in Education, specializing in mental health and rehabilitation counseling. My experience and focus have been in mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in all levels of care in previous roles as Chief Operating Officer, Executive VP of Clinical Services, Executive Director, Admissions Director, Assistant Clinical Director, Primary Therapist, Judicial Services Coordinator, Family Therapist, and BHT Supervisor. Throughout my career, I have been blessed to work with some amazing teams and individuals that have allowed me to help many individuals through some humbling recognitions, including the Sierra Tucson "Gratitude for Giving, Compassion Award" in 2016;"Above & Beyond" Award from Elements Behavioral Health in 2015;"Employee of the Year" from Miami-Dade County in 2007;"Appreciation Award", Lindsey Hopkins Education Center-School Advisory Council in 2010; and "Appreciation Award", Miami-Dade County, Mayor and Board of County Commissioners in 2009.
