As a strategic thinker and futurist, I am passionate about identifying trends that impact business and developing frameworks and plans to shift current business thinking to be able to take advantage of new opportunities. Having over 20 years of experience in high technology industries including biotechnology, medical devices/diagnostics and medical research, I am skilled at identifying opportunities for commercial translation bringing together research and industry together with the aim of creating impact. I have deep networks into the Australian biopharma and medical research sector having sat on the board of Australia's Industry organisation.Over my career I have been privileged to have had the opportunity to- spin out companies with VC support which have progressed towards late stage clinical trials- support bringing a new diagnostic to the market through commercial partnership and international funder engagement- assist in establishing operations and parterships in China- establish consortiums bringing together industry and academia together for a common purpose- participate and support the team as a board member of 360 Biolabs during their aquisition by BioAgilityx- pilot an accelerator program initiative qDOSLab that transformed thinking within the institute leading to establishment of industry aligned business units focused on diagnostic development and new acceleratorI currently lead the Commercialisation Innovation and Industry Partnerships (CIIP) team at Burnet where I am supported by a team of specialists across IP and legal, Business Development and Commercial Project management. Our focus is to capture and create impact through supporting development of new innovations from research.Where I get the most joy is bringing together people, projects and institutions to create new opportunities for impact, ultimately for patients!
