About Serkan Ceylan

Winner of the ‘Outstanding Staff Enterprise Initiative Award’ Serkan is a full time senior lecturer in project management. His qualifications include Business Management Studies (University of Hamburg/Lueneburg), BA (Hons), MBA from Solent University, and a PhD from Nottingham Trent University. He is an accredited trainer in project management and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Association for Project Management. He previously worked as a knowledge transfer manager for Solent University and has secured the university’s first two KTP successes working under the Vice Chancellor's Office and managed 4 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Serkan's inspiring business acumen and international communication skills have generated contacts and courses in countries such as Germany, Austria, Turkey, Nigeria and China. In addition, he created the univerities project management workflow (eCAP) using his PRINCE2 methodology skills as an approved practitioner and lead trainer for the university. Industry experience Serkan set up his first business by the age of 19. He also started as a trainee and left as a senior consultant in one of Europe’s biggest independent financial services agencies. Serkan is a proven team player and leader, offering sound business management, strategy, and global communication skills. He has experience of handling significant budgets and achieving commercial profit targets, as well as finding opportunities to increase business wealth. Serkan has bid writing skills and has shown some achievements under ERDF were he put a successful bid together and secured just over In addition, he turned an initially failing bid into a success with HEIF and secured just under over three years as well as under the ECIF for a higher education college. Before he started his full time career as academic staff he worked as an enterprise, innovation and project manager for various higher education institutions.
