About Seth Alden

Power plant operator experienced in the operation of multiple types of boiler, turbine-generator combinations, ranging from coal fired super-critical once through and drum type boilers, natural gas fired boilers GE turbine as well as Siemens and AC steam turbines. Experience includes multiple methods of air quality controls including flu gas sulfur removal, fly ash handling equipment, precipitators and other exhaust gas treatment, such as powdered activated carbon injection, and selective catalytic reduction. My experience includes operation at multiple levels including plant auxiliary operation and control room operation, plant LOTO and clearance administration. I have taken part in testing and application of multiple control system upgrades, and have utilized various DCS control systems, including ABB, Metso-Valmet, Ovation, Honeywell and Foxboro controls. To ensure uninterrupted and reliable power while maintaining a safe working condition for plant personnel. I have a strong understanding of the process interaction between various plant systems and always strive to learn more when the opportunity is presented.
