In summary, I have enjoyed a wide range of experiences in my professional life. I pride myself on my adaptability and work ethic. When challenged, I have found that I am a capable individual and consistently strive to achieve the results desired by my supervisors. A prime example I'll use happened when employed with Western Towing & Recovery in Silverthorne, Colorado. I had been recovering and towing vehicles for around 10 hours that day and was looking forward to heading home. We then received a call involving a tractor trailer which had lost its brakes and rolled on Rabbit ears pass near Steamboat, CO. We loaded up our heavy recovery vehicles and headed to the accident location. Once on scene we realized the extent of the damage and that this was going to be a technical recovery with a lot of moving parts. So we got to work. We had to hand unload worth of product from the trailer which was laying on its side and had cracked in half. This required the coordination of a disposal company and getting several dumpsters and multiple more workers on scene. Several hours later we had finally gotten the vehicle unloaded. The next step in the recovery process involved using a demolition saw to cut through the trailer frame (floor, walls and ceiling) to accommodate the removal of the trailer from the pass. In order to cut through the ceiling I donned a full body harness and was hooked into our "rotator" heavy wrecker (think recovery crane). I was positioned above the damaged trailer and communicating with the "rotator" operator via voice activated headset. Looking very much like a recovery operator Tom Cruise Mission Impossible scene I utilized the demo saw to chop through the trailer walls and ceiling. Task accomplished, we continued forward until the remainder of the job was completed safely. We returned with our completely totaled tractor trailer back to the yard. Total elapsed time on the job was 26 hours. If you add the previous 10 hours before we received the call then all totaled I had just worked for 36 hours straight. I had performed flawlessly in a physically and mentally demanding professional environment where time was of the essence due to environmental concerns. I had adapted to the ever changing roles and demands my team required of me and kept charging through even when exhausted. Adaptability and work ethic are my fortes.
