About Seth Goldman

Hello! I am a student at Florida Institute of Technology majoring in Aviation Management and will be graduating this upcoming spring semester! In my time at Florida Tech I have gained many great experiences in a lot of different aspects of aviation. This includes classes such as aeronautics, learning about VFR flight, flight principles, VFR flight planning, meteorology and weather, 57.9 flight hours, and more. With that, I have also studied many aspects of the management side such as Management Principles, Human Resource Management, Aviation Law, Airport Management, Aviation Security and Safety, Transportation Logistics, Managerial Accounting, and Corporate Finance. One of the stand-out classes that I took was Aviation Business Simulation, where we were put in a competitive environment against our peers to build an entire airline from scratch. This includes managing the costs of planes, fuel, destinations, departure and downtime, all while keeping an accurate log of every aspect and action of our airline to put into a full technical report and investor presentation at the end of the semester. Another set of stand-out classes were Aviation planning, Airport Design, and AutoCAD for Airport Environments. In Aviation Planning, I learned about issues and processes in aviation planning as well as studied sources of aviation data, forecasting methods, airport master planning processes, and environmental issues. For Airport Design, we learned about FAA and ICAO airport standards, as well as airside components such as runways, protection areas, zones and surfaces, taxiways, terminals, on-airport facilities, and much more. In AutoCAD for Airport Environments, I learned how to draw and modify, new or existing airport drawings, including taxiways, surfaces, runways, and even had the opportunity to create my own airport within a specified plot of land in Orlando, FL from the ground up as a final project! As you can tell I have a passion and interest in many different aspects of aviation and am open to any new and interesting sides of aviation.
