The things I share, the posts I write, and the discussions I have with others are my own opinions and are not reflective of my workplace or the organisations I am a member of. As a human with my own free will to learn and discover, they are opinions formed from my engagement and learning on those topics. Before I get stuck into about me, I am super keen to hear from aviation professionals. Why? It’s my dream to get into aviation law and work with aerospace companies in their legal disputes. I’m keen to hear from aviation lawyers and how they got into this space! I am a sucker for the unconventional. Before I got into law, it was imparted on me by some probably well-meaning people that I would never make it into the profession because I didn't get the grades. It's a nice way of saying you are just not smart enough. Well, stupidly I listened to that advice up until 5 years ago when I though, bugger it, I'll give it a shot. After doing a bachelor of business thinking hospitality was all I was good for, I opted for change and to give the middle finger to the educators who'd told me I'd never amount to a lawyer. Fast forward 5 years, add in the urge to argue with people all day, and read legal terminology that goes way over my head, I’ve completed my Juris Doctor (fancy speak for a law degree) at UTS. PLT is next! During that time, I've been elected Chair of the Business Law Committee, got a job as a paralegal at a serious law firm (SR Law was an awesome first law firm to work at and they've taught me so much), been promoted to managing paralegal, changed jobs, got fired from that job, started another job, and have met a bunch of fantastic professionals globally. Moving into 2023 I will also be on Executive Council for the NSW Young Lawyers! It's certainly been a great journey, and I have begun to build my personal brand using a small social media following where I try to show myself and mostly the journey I am on (good and bad).
