About Seth K. Gregory

Seth earned his Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal/General Music Education at Middle Tennessee State University in May 2014 and a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership at Carson-Newman University in May 2021. He is also pursuing his DMA in Music Education from Boston University and anticipates finishing in 2027. Seth is a notable pianist, guitarist, and choral director. A unique part of Seth's musicianship is his involvement with seven-shaped note music. He remains active in shaped note gospel music by teaching at the Do Re Mi Gospel Music Academy, the North Carolina School of Gospel Music, West Virginia School of Gospel Music and attending various singing conventions across the south. He is also a former two-time president of the Tennessee State Gospel Singing Convention. Seth has been teaching in Rutherford County and is in his eleventh year in education. He is an active member of ACDA and MTVA. He has served as coordinator for the RCS All-County Middle School Honor Choir for two years and Vocal Equipment Co-Chair for the Tennessee Music Educators Association. He was inducted as an honorary member of the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia in 2018 and received one of the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts Outstanding Teacher of Excellence in 2019. His students have earned Superior Ratings in the Middle Tennessee Choral Festival and many are selected for regional and national-level honor choirs through MTVA and ACDA. He is now the Music Specialist and Director of Choirs at Stewarts Creek Middle School in Smyrna, TN. Seth happily lives in Smyrna, TN with his wife Katie and their son Kason.
