About Seth Levinson

I’m a picture person. I love the expedition ideas take from image to word. Crafting them into effective communication has been a deeply satisfying way to make a living. A childhood passion for making stuff, fuelled my trajectory into the visual arts, through contemporary dance and finally towards graphic design. Design lead me to projects in contemporary dance, the visual and media arts, the medical/pharmaceutical world, book design, and art directing and designing a leading journal for Buddhist practitioners in the West (Buddhadharma: The Practitioner’s Quarterly). I’m a volunteer and community oriented person: I helped launch an annual fundraising gala of international contemporary dance stars to help those affected by AIDS/HIV (D’amour et de danse/Montreal); for 20 years, served a contemporary dance presenter (Live Art Dance/Halifax) on the board, as artistic director of programming and in graphic design/marketing; launched a drop-in, bi-weekly singing event (The Big Sing/Halifax); co-founded a small, community choir (Halifax) and have served an international Buddhist community in many capacities including serving on boards, teaching meditation and staffing programs. I’m passionate about contributing to the global shift towards a sustainable future and add my voice and efforts to the hosts of those dedicated to climate justice. And finally, a few key things help me recharge: exercise, meditation, spending time with animals, contemporary dance and art, and wandering aimlessly in the natural world.
