About Severien van Keer
With a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in Medicine and Health Sciences from the University of Antwerp, I am currently continuing my academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Vaccine & Infectious Disease Institute (VAXINFECTIO), University of Antwerp. Recently, I was awarded a senior postdoctoral fellowship by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) to advance our clinical and translational cancer research. This work focuses on evaluating the clinical performance and acceptability of HPV DNA testing in first-void urine, combined with host cell methylation marker triage (e.g, Building on this foundation, this research is now expanding toward screening for other female gynecological cancers, using self-sampling for cervical cancer as a model for broader applications.
