About Shady Khalil

I am a passionate environmentalist with over seven years of experience in leading and managing impactful campaigns, educational programs, and policy recommendations on climate change, mitigation and plastic reduction. I hold an MA in Environment, Development and Policy from the University of Sussex. As the Campaigns Lead at Greenpeace MENA, I work with a diverse and dynamic team of activists, researchers, and communicators to mobilize public support and influence decision-makers on urgent environmental issues, such as climate change, plastic pollution, and renewable energy. I also leverage my social media skills to amplify our messages and reach a wider audience. Previously, I co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Greenish, an Egyptian foundation that aims to raise environmental awareness and empower local communities. Under my leadership, Greenish grew from a startup to a foundation with more than 20 staff members, unique students, and hundreds of partners across Egypt. I am also the Chair of the Board of Directors of Greenish, where I oversee the strategic direction and governance of the organization.
