About Shae Erlandson

Hi there! I am Shae. I am a third-year philosophy student at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. I am an individual who has endless curiosity. I want to see what living a life has to offer and all of the opportunities out there that come with existence. This means I have knowledge in many random areas as my curiosity has led me to peek into many different activities and lifestyles. After high school, I spent a year on my own solo backpacking across Southeast Asia and Western Europe to broaden my understanding of the world before settling down at college to deepen it. I was able to experience the culture of 17 different countries while also discovering and creating my own place in this world. I am passionate about people, and I strive to bring meaning and genuine humanity to every conversation I engage in. I like to know both people and ideas deeply. I was led to philosophy because I ask endless questions for clarity and to challenge even the seemingly most basic concepts. My upcoming plans consist of training to become a teacher in the movement practice of Nia dance and healing arts, as well as taking courses to become a licensed massage therapist. This summer I am to be a research assistant in Philosophy exploring the idea of redundancy at a fundamental level.
