25+ years’ related experience in RF/MW communication links supporting, satellite and ground base communication systems and other RF Radar and radio systems. 10+ years experience with RF and digital design of communication systems. Practical experience with board level design and integration of mixed digital and RF components. DOD - Air Force, Army, and Navy Radar and SATCOM programs, i.e, UHF/X bands Phased Array Surveillance Radar and optical Sensors for SENSOR program, UHF/C/X/Ku/Ka bands satellite network and Data Link Terminal (DLT) antenna subsystems supporting KaStar, RADRS, DSC and AFSCN contracts. Experience with MDA and Navy Exoatmospheric Ballistic Missile data communication systems with emphasis on Standard Missile-3, developing commlink requirements, modeling missile antennas, Atmospheric losses (rain, cloud, gases, Ionosphere, refraction), rocket plume, jamming, Rocket trajectory and over-the-horizon multipath interference. Experience with RF/digital circuit board, and FPGA IP core design, implementing Verilog and VHDL code for baseband digital modem, coding, Forward Error correction functions using industry standard design tools, such as Altera Quartus II, Ansoft Designer, Altium/Protel, Matlab and Simulink.
