I graduated with a B.Sc. degree in the field of biochemistry. I have always enjoyed the process of analyzing data from my experiments and reporting back the results of my findings and research through graphs. I decided to switch fields as I felt limited to the application of this aspect in lab related jobs. There is so much power and value in data and that's what I've come to appreciate about the data field. I felt like I can use my problem solving skills to do something more impactful such as improve business value. To get started on my journey I completed the IBM's Data Science Professional certificate. This is where I learned the foundations of Python and SQL. To re-enforce my learning I completed a certificate in Introduction to Data and SQL offered by CodeFirstGirls.com, an organization helping women break into tech. I also completed Google's Data analytics certification to learn the basics of using R and Tableau. If I had to describe myself with one expression it would be "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one". In my previous quality control role at L’Oréal, I was trained to quality control various departments such as raw materials to the finished good and down to the packaging as well. This shows my ability to diversify across a role day to day based on a company’s needs with the curiosity to always learn and grow.
