Hey there. As a Senior Specialist - Network Operations at Metrolinx, I manage relations with all of our third- party stakeholders (CN, CPKC, VIA, Siemens) to improve OTP and develop solutions for network issues affecting GO, VIA and freight trains. I am a subject matter expert on freight train operations across the GTHA, and ensure that we are able to uphold our commercial obligations by accommodating freight operations across the network. I also create, review and optimize Rail Traffic Control schedules (grids). I analyze delays and data to understand the root causes of OTP-impacting train control delays across the network, and develop mitigation strategies to prevent reoccurrences. I utilize and develop a variety of tools for the organization using Excel, PowerBI, and internal classified freight/passenger train databases. I wear many hats in my role, and must be able to plan and adapt to a constantly changing operational environment. As a Rail Traffic Controller at Metrolinx, I coordinated critical network operations to facilitate the safe movement of trains across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. I applied my data analytic skills and communication abilities to monitor, manage, and troubleshoot complex situations and ensure optimal service delivery. I enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where I can leverage my problem-solving and decision-making skills to enhance customer satisfaction and safety. I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Ryerson University, where I majored in Economics and Management Sciences, with a minor in Finance. I have a strong foundation in various economic concepts, such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and business statistics. I am also proficient in using software such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and SQL to perform data modelling and visualization. I am passionate about learning new technologies and skills, and I am currently in the process of learning Python.
