About Shakara Taylor

I am a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy candidate who is working towards partial licensure, in efforts to later achieve full licensure. I have worked predominantly in family services since obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina in 2016. My experience and interest have always revolved around domestic services to different variations. For two years, I worked in a residential halfway house, helping inmates to prepare for release by assisting them in securing housing, work, and necessary therapeutic services. Now, I work to provide and support underprivileged children with an adult mentor that will assist them during their various life transitions and help to expose them to different post-secondary school options.I thoroughly enjoy working with both the prison population and children/juveniles. At this point in my career, I am preparing to undergo residency and am looking to secure employment via a facility that offers therapeutic services. With that being said, I would like to connect with those that are linked to pillared services in the community, as well as LMFT(A)’s who can offer guidance or professional friendship.
