About Shakil Uddin

I consider myself fortunate for being able to find a passion in a major that Rutgers is renowned for - Supply Chain Management. Being environmentally friendly and sustainable are two things that are crucial to me and is something I want to spearhead in any organization that I become a part of. I have seen firsthand how improper handling of waste and negligence can impact an ecosystem, and this is the driving force for me wanting to do something about it. With the Supply chain Major, and specifically ethical and sustainable sourcing, I believe we can create a cleaner and a happier world that doesn't suffer from corporate carelessness. Another key factor in accomplishing this is through being innovative and creative. By collaborating with suppliers and other stakeholders, we can find sustainable alternatives to many damaging resources such as plastic and harsh chemicals, reducing water waste, and ensuring that no human rights laws are being violated. Supply Chain may sound like a broad field, but it provides opportunities in many segments that urgently need our attention and focus.
