About Shana Ess

Shana Ess is a highly accomplished healthcare leader with extensive expertise in business development, marketing, entrepreneurship, and the creation of exceptional customer experiences. She began her career in the field of eye care at a reputable optometric group. It was here that she discovered firsthand the joy of restoring a patient's sight and the profound impact one could have in the ophthalmic industry. In 1996, following the FDA's approval of Excimer laser technology in the United States, Shana made a pivotal decision to transition from general eye care and clinic management. She embarked on the launch of one of the earliest refractive surgery facilities in the country. Over the years, she progressed to the role of Vice President of Operations at LCA-Vision. Her experience in recruiting, launching and managing clinics across the nation became invaluable, leading to the successful launch of a startup refractive clinic in collaboration with Dr. David Whiting. This venture ultimately evolved into the highest-volume freestanding refractive surgery clinic in the nation. After a decade of achievement with Whiting Clinic and a growing desire to further explore her entrepreneurial spirit, Shana co-founded OVO LASIK + LENS in 2021 alongside Dr. Mark Lobanoff.
