About Shane Blume

After graduating from B. F. Terry High School in 1989, Shane Blume began his career fixing cars in his father’s auto repair shop where he was known as the singing mechanic. His dream was to become an accomplished musician, so in 1993, he chased his dream and started pursuing a music degree at Wharton County Junior College. In 1995, he continued his journey at Sam Houston State University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1998 and a Master of Music degree in 2002. Along the way, he earned many honors as a student including graduating summa cum laude and being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Chi, Golden Key National Honor Society, and National Dean’s List. In 1995, he released his first recording of original music which received radio airplay in several foreign countries where his music received recognition as top 100 independent artists. His teaching career began in Conroe, Texas in where he spent four years teaching students the art of singing in public schools. He then moved back home to Rosenberg, Texas where he taught for six years in public schools and honed his craft earning Wessendorff Middle School’s first superior rating at the Katy Choral Festival. Through his ten years of teaching in public schools, he has gained experience in preparing students for both TMEA and UIL vocal competitions. He started his career at Fort Bend Music Center in 2008 as vocal coach and group piano instructor. In 2016, he began teaching at Wharton County Junior College. In 2022, he became the music teacher at Holy Rosary Catholic School in Rosenberg, TX. He also leads his church’s Praise & Worship band as well as a traditional country band named “Blast from the Past.”
