I am a Principal with Popper and Company, an M&A advisory and specialty consulting firm serving life science and technology clients. Specific services include corporate strategy development, commercialization, regulatory strategy and implementation, strategic partnering, and negotiation of agreements. M&A advisory services include identification, prioritization and initiation of contact with potential acquirers and targets, valuation analyses, diligence, deal structuring and negotiation. I have more than 20 years of R&D and business development experience in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry. Have led research teams involved in all aspects of drug discovery and technology development, and have designed, negotiated and managed many R&D partnerships. Extensive experience in technology evaluation, technology development and strategic planning. Current activities also include the provision of interim executive management services to early-stage biotechnology companies in the areas of diagnostics and drug discovery / drug development. Prior experience includes Sr. management positions at Protana (formerly MDS Proteomics) including Senior Vice President of Science Strategy and Business Development, Senior Vice-President of Research Collaborations, and Vice-President of Proteomics and Business Development. I was also co-founder, Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer of MDS Ocata, Visiting Research Scientist at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, and held several positions of increasing responsibility at Allelix Biopharmaceuticals, Inc.(Now NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc, NASDAQ:NPSP) including Principal Scientist. My postdoctoral work was done at the University of California at San Francisco and I received a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in biology from the University of Waterloo.
