About Shane Gregory

Production & Maintenance Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in offshore oil & gas, specializing in commissioning, automated control system operation and testing, operator competency, and procedure development. I currently lead a multi-skilled team of CROs, control system technicians, field operators, and maintenance techs on Cenovus Energy’s West White Rose Project (WWRP), where we are preparing for platform deployment to the Grand Banks of the Atlantic Ocean. I’ve held key leadership roles on the Hibernia platform, the SeaRose FPSO, and the Central Platform (CEP) in the South China Sea—guiding teams through startup, troubleshooting, maintenance strategy development, as well as control system FATs and SITs. My training includes extensive programs in Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), Management of Major Emergencies (MoME), Person in Charge (PIC), Emergency Response, Command and Control, and Incident Coordination. Beyond daily operations, I’ve contributed to the development of: • Control of Work systems • Commissioning and operating procedures • System descriptions and shut-down logic • Punch list tracking and management tools • Process isolation strategies • Process system purge and leak test planning • Emergency and process shutdown Cause & Effect testing • Operator competency assessments • Root cause and risk analyses My broad-based experience allows me to blend field-level insight with structured documentation and team development—helping bridge the gap between construction, commissioning, and safe, steady-state operations.
