About Shane Immelt

I've had my hands in photography since age nine. From 35mm to 2 1/4 sq to 4 x 5 sheet film cameras, I enjoy all aspects of photography. My first wedding photos were shot at age 14 for a close family friend. I spent a lot of time in industrial photography for products my fabricating shop (McGinnis Co.) in Chicago built. Operated a photographic portrait studio in downtown liberty for approx. 10 years and home-based since. I've been a full-time professional photographer since 2003, and now specialize in teen and child portraiture. We completely embraced the digital world in 2004, but sill practice film technique and fine art work. In my engineering career, I designed and manufactured numerous material handling devices for midwest steel mills, Amtrak, nuclear generation facilities and mining companies in the United States as well as Europe. I also outlined and managed several non-destructive and destructive testing and inspection programs (dye-penetrant and/or magnetic particle & eddy current) for material handling cranes, crawler/rubber-tired & overhead cranes. Specialties: Minds-i specializes in family portraiture from infant to multi-generational portraits in your home/office or special location. We love working with high school seniors and teens, as well as aspiring models and all the visual arts. Since the closure of our storefront studio.we've pushed ourselves to new heights in photography. We are now implementing studies to incorporate "Hybrid Photography" into our tools. Hybrid Photography is the fusion of movies with still & short presentations to get the clearer picture & story across to the target audience. Along with hybrid we are including low-altitude (<400 ft.AGL) aerial photography & videography via remote UAS/UAV technology. We feel these two new technological additions will help separate us from a far amount of the local competition.
