About Shane Jones

I started in the construction industry in 2007 as an electrical apprentice. Due to the family commitments an apprenticeship was no longer a viable source of income. This is when I started my curtain walling career where I learnt new key skills in a completely different area of construction. I learnt alot of new skills in this role from weather proofing to installing various curtain walling systems and brise soleil systems. After working in the the industry for over five years I decided to take up another challenge which led me to the sealant side of the industry. While working in this area I feel have learnt alot of new skills from liaising with other contractors or clients to working within time limits. Due to the line of work I have learnt to work alone, making sure safety procedures are in place for lone workers. Checking on other colleagues throughout the day whilst carrying on with my own line of work. I have learnt to be confident liaising with other contractors, clients and site management from attending supervisor meetings to showing clients works completed to high standards. I have learnt to manage work loads liaising between clients and my employer to make sure the jobs are completed in a timely manner. I have a keen eye for detail making sure our contracts are finished to a very high standard which the clients are happy with. Another duty I hold is to control stock taking, deliveries and liaising with my employer when we running low on materials.
