About Shane Kitchen

I am a Conservation Officer for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with nine years of experience. I have served as a Corporal, overseeing and managing a special task force for Invasive Species Interdiction. I have experience in a wide variety of wildlife management techniques and practices. I interact with the public on a daily basis and aid in improving the relationships and goals of the agency with those I encounter. I am a certified instructor and have taught and presented at conferences throughout the Western United States. I have specialized experience in data management and manipulation and serve as the agencies Law Enforcement lead for these activities. I am proficient in Microsoft Excel as well as RStudio, a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. I have used these programs for largescale investigations, cross data comparisons, presentations to agency administration, and multiple other agency serving projects. I have worked with and alongside individuals from other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. I am the Liaison for the state of Utah on a multi state project which includes approximately 14 different agencies, 6 million lines of data, and has thus far been successful in locating over 1800 suspect violators of wildlife law. This project is ongoing and the expected number of suspect violators is expected to continuously grow.
