About Shane Lissy

Creating and contributing to a safe and productive environment of growth and learning has been a goal of mine in every job that I have held. I have dealt with unit well-being and policy compliance ever since I joined the workforce as a young man. The most poignant and intense experience I have had with this has been with the Los Angeles Superior Court as a union steward. For five years I had the duty to represent union members of my district as a volunteer steward, in addition to fulfilling my daily duties. I would handle local disputes, as well as being involved in overall labor relations, and was able to do so in an efficient and informal fashion. I have always sought to uphold the integrity of the Court by ensuring that policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws, were being followed on the part of the employees, as well as management. I worked closely with Human Resources to accomplish this and have developed a very positive and healthy working relationship with them. The aforementioned environment, as well as most of my work experience, has offered me opportunities to hone my ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, through investigation, interviewing and researching facts, policies, procedures, and laws that would provide me with the most accurate accumulation of knowledge and information with which to base my decisions on. Confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, and respect are some of the tenets upon which I have based my personal and workplace activities. I look forward to future opportunities to demonstrate and expand/refine these tenets.
