Partnering with the CFO, I meticulously oversee budget creation, conduct reviews, manage variances, and uphold rigorous financial management that aligns with our objectives. Below are some of my top accomplishments at Bluestem Health: • Recognizing the need to reduce lab costs as an organization serving underserved and uninsured communities. Renegotiated the long-standing contract with the outside lab service, securing a favorable deal to receive the $150K annual fee as a donation back to the organization. • Identifying areas of financial leakage and avoiding total closure by applying strong attention to detail and strategic thinking to highlight areas of improvement, leading a substantial turnaround from nearly closing to generating $1M in revenue, opening four additional locations, a business office, and a mobile unit. • Educating the organization on identifying grant opportunities and positioned teams to secure a technology grant to buy new systems, network architecture, servers, and front-end equipment. Establishing a data center at a clinic located in a hospital, taking advantage of the hospital’s generator and security systems to host systems in-house, conserving $100K in annual costs.
