About Shane MacKay

As a Plant Protection Officer at Harmac Pacific, I provide fire protection, security, first aid and emergency services to a leading kraft pulp mill in British Columbia. With over nine years of firefighting experience, I hold a Firefighter II certification from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, Security Officer license, IVES Heavy Equipment Trainer certification, and an Advanced First Aid certificate from WorkSafeBC. I am skilled in industrial safety, training, and risk management. In addition to my current role, I have been serving as a Firefighter at North Cedar Fire Department since 2016, where I have contributed to fire science, firefighting, hazardous materials, rescue, incident safety, and team leadership. I am also a Fire and Emergency Services Instructor, responsible for training and mentoring new and existing firefighters. I am passionate about protecting lives, property, and the environment, and I strive to apply my skills and knowledge to both my industrial and community settings.
