Since being appointed to the role of Core & Curriculum Officer in September 2008 I have contributed to the design, implementation and testing of a new service provided to schools through the C2K service. I have created a pack, which is available to all Post-Primary Schools that imports into Assessment Manager and removes the need for teachers to become technical experts in setup. This allows the tracking of pupils at subject level, class level and Year group level. It works on the principle of continuous assessment, where pupils are assessed 6 times in a year for every subject. Each pupil has a target grade, and each assessment is analysed against the target grade with the traffic light system. It assists subject teachers in setting up mentoring groups and highlights underachieving pupils across all ability ranges in all subjects.
