How does a military armament systems specialist end up running operations for a leading digital advertising agency? Both require a keen eye, a fast mind, and an ability to avoid disasters at all costs. All jokes aside though, my 18-plus-year tenure as a leading force at the helm of the good-ship WMX has required a lot of hard work, unrelenting dedication, a keen eye, and yes, even a little bit of luck. To say it’s been an unconventional path would be an understatement, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. My natural gift for “android-like precision” and quick pattern recognition proved essential to my success in my first job as an armament specialist in the U.S. Air Force. There I was trained on all things that go boom (even the nuclear ones) and worked closely with pilots and aircrews to ensure safety and efficiency. In that field, laser-like focus and flawless problem-solving are essential skills for keeping you and everyone around you alive and kicking, thankfully I had these qualities in spades. After my honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force, my analytical skills proved essential during my 11 years at FedEx, where I quickly rose through the ranks from customer service rep to accomplished senior analyst. This role proved instrumental in discovering my true passion: marketing. As a reporting and analytics expert at FedEx, I reveled in the challenge of deciphering data and turning it into actionable insights. But that wasn't enough for me, I was bitten by the marketing bug, and I wanted a way into that world. I got that opportunity when I accepted a position as a marketing analyst for WMX. Once I started in the digital advertising world, I wanted to know everything about it, from the nuance of the creative process to the nuts and bolts of online and web tech, display marketing, eCRM, SEO, and SEM. Today, as Senior VP of Operations at WMX, I get to put all that knowledge and experience to work, overseeing every aspect of WMX's production and success. Quality assurance, problem-solving, and proper process execution continue to be my daily bread. Here, no two days are alike, but one thing is constant: my unyielding commitment to excellence. Whether it's grappling with a big-picture strategy or diving deep into the smallest yet most essential details, I leave no stone unturned in pursuit of perfection.
