About Shane Pugh

I am responsible for all Business Development activities associated with PM Group’s Manchester Business Unit,(which includes our Edinburgh office). I also take responsibility for all Industrial Manufacturing and Energy sector business development activities for PM Group across the UK. I have a wide range of responsibilities, but my core focus is on seeking opportunities to utilise PM Group's diverse skills and knowledge to build business across our target market sectors. As well as supporting the development of existing and new customers across the whole business, I have a specific role in the further development of the Energy Sector with a particular focus on utilising my knowledge of Natural Gas, Hydrogen, Bioenergy and energy/heat recovery. I’m also fortunate that I still get the opportunity to utilise my specialist knowledge of Instrumentation & Control, Anaerobic Digestion, Functional Safety Management and the application of the DSEAR/ATEX regulations. Over the years I have been involved with a huge range of projects for a diverse range of clients in the Food, Energy, Nuclear, Water, Pharmaceutical, Bulk Chemicals and Oil & Gas market sectors. A common factor with many of these is the use of potentially hazardous materials as part of their operations, given this the vast majority of our clients are governed by a range of complex legislative requirements. Thanks to my early days working at BNFL and developing and delivering projects for multiple clients over the years, I have been able to develop a comprehensive understanding of a range of complex legislative compliance requirements which are imposed on our Industrial Manufacturing and Energy sector clients. Over the years I have worked on projects for a vast range of clients including: Urenco, Sherwin Williams, Syngenta, Kimberly Clark, Cadbury, Cargill, Airbus, BAE, British Sugar, Shanks, United Utilities, ICI, Ineos, ConocoPhillips and many more besides. I am confident and self-motivated, and care passionately about what we do as a business. A business like ours is all about the people, and a really important part of my role is to make sure that our people are happy, well supported and that they get the encouragement and opportunities to ‘grow’. Our people also thrive on the opportunity to deliver technically challenging projects of which we have delivered a multitude over the 40+ years that we have been in business, given this I’m always on the lookout for clients that have ‘interesting’ projects.
