With the pandemic occurring in 2020 and the unfortunate events that followed after, it made me rethink my career path as well as my goals that I wanted for myself. After 15+ years of being in the Culinary Industry, I knew it was time to put up my apron and walk away. This is when I found the UCSD Extension Program for Medical Coding and Billing and knew this is what I wanted to do. I knew the journey would be difficult in achieving this goal and completely switching careers, but with my strong work ethic this could easily be attainable. Now after a year and a half later, I have completed the program and passed my CPC-A certification exam. This is only the beginning and with my transferrable skills from the Culinary Industry, I believe I have what it takes to excel in Medical Coding & Billing if given the right opportunities.
