About Shane Walsh

My name is Shane and I am Marketing Editor for Spórt TG4. I am responsible for marketing all things Spórt on TG4, whether that is live GAA or documentary programmes. This involves travelling to sporting events, interviewing athletes and sharing updates with our followers. It also includes managing our social media accounts on a day-to-day basis including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Video direction, production and editing are also important elements of the job, and all as Gaeilge! Before joining TG4 I earned a masters qualification as an Irish and French teacher. I have experience teaching at home and abroad, in Kilkenny, Galway, the Aran Islands, England, France (Paris and Versailles) and Japan (Tokyo and Sapporo). I can also speak Irish and French fluently and Japanese at an intermediate level. I have also worked as a tour guide through English, Irish and French and have plenty other experiences and hobbies! I volunteer as PRO for my local GAA club, Windgap, and as Arts Officer for Callan Macra na Feirme.
