About Shane Williams

I am honing my Electrical Engineer skills at Cal Poly's PROVE Lab, where I work on the design and integration of a lithium-ion cell battery pack that will power a fully electric, long-range sports car capable of traveling over miles on a single charge. This project aims to break the Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled on a single charge by an electric vehicle. I am passionate about innovation and technology, and I have gained valuable hands-on experience in various engineering competitions and internships. I have engineered PLC control systems for tunnel boring machinery for the Not-A-Boring Competition sponsored by The Boring Company and Elon Musk, and I have supported operations engineers in load flow modeling, monitoring distribution voltage and load, and coordinating critical operating equipment projects at PG & E. I am also pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where I have maintained a +3.5 GPA and been consistently on the Dean's List. Some of my key skills include Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), Arduino IDE, RISC-V, electronic circuit design, Python, C++, Systemverilog, and Autodesk software. I am also an initiative-taker, a problem-solver, a collaborator, a leader, and a communicator. I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself, and I aspire to make a positive impact on the world through engineering and technology.
