I am originally from Canada, but I have been living in Japan for almost thirty years. I am currently the head of an international school in Japan. I have led the school for over a decade through International Baccalaureate program authorizations and evaluations (for the PYP, MYP, and DP), CIS accreditation and evaluation, periods of crisis (2011 earthquake, death of the previous head of school, COVID-19), facilities development, and an extended stage of growth (from eight students to over three hundred students). I have struggled with workaholism and food addiction in my life, and as a result, I have learned a great deal about addiction, and the personal transformation that is necessary to combat addiction.
