About Shannon Ezzat

Two of my passions in life are solving hard problems, and helping people learn the tool to solve their own complex problems. Naturally, a career in Mathematics was a perfect fit. I'm also a *huge* people person (think the opposite of Sheldon Cooper) so naturally teaching and communicating has been something I've been drawn towards in a big way. My education and training have give me a significant skill-set to draw from- I am fluent in the language of mathematics. Being able to operate in the mathematical world is incredibly powerful for solving problems and finding solutions- I can learn incredibly quickly, even (and maybe especially) if what I need to learn is complex and has lots of moving parts- I am an expert at sharing information so that it's pitched perfectly for the audience I'm communicating with- I can manage and motivate people so that they are happy to produce their best work - I can pick up and I'm currently an Instructor (equivalent to Senior Instructor) at the University of Winnipeg where I instruct mathematics courses for a very wide variety of students - everywhere from pre-service elementary teachers to honours-level senior undergraduate mathematics students. Through my hard work and dedication I earned a Merit award from the University of Winnipeg for both the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years.
