About Shannon Ford

With years of experience in various roles, I am a passionate and versatile Tourism and Events Coordinator at the Chamber of Commerce of Smyth County. My mission is to promote and support the local businesses and community through content creation, event planning, fundraising, and membership. I am also a certified Life Coach, with credentials in life purpose, happiness, and goal success coaching. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as skills in nonprofit organizations, social media, and notary public services. In my current role, I assist the Director in creating written communications and chamber publications, such as newsletters, articles, flyers, and tourism ads for local and regional publications. I also handle the organization's social media presence, engaging with the audience and sharing relevant information and updates. Additionally, I coordinate various events, such as networking breakfasts, community events, and business luncheons, and create and implement fundraising campaigns. I also acquire and maintain client membership, and provide notary public services. Previously, I worked as a Covid-19 Medical Services Coordinator at Sierra 7, Inc, where I scheduled government-funded Covid-19 tests and vaccines, ensured immunization consent forms were complete, and maintained HIPAA compliance.
