About Shannon Markowski

How did I go from a childhood dream of being a photojournalist for National Geographic running through the forests of the Amazon in search of undiscovered peoples and places to becoming an Electronic Medical Records Assistant? Easy! I traded a jungle of vegetation for a jungle of paper. I see it, forests=trees=paper=records! No worries, in my spare time I still get to take photos, it's just mainly by running through the trees in a local park. At least there are no cannibals. Despite all of my running around in nature, traveling, kayaking, photography, and enjoying life, I'm also working on getting my Law degree. Wow, I must really love paper and files! I have previously worked as a Recruiter, a District Trainer, and in HR. And as I am taking my courses in Law the legal knowledge I'm acquiring along with my skill set are a great benefit to any career I pursue. As the healthcare industry continues to grow, technological advancements continue to move us into a completely paperless world and people's privacy and security is paramount now more than ever. Thankfully I'm obsessed with being organized, meticulous and working quickly and efficiently within time constraints. I make sure any documents, whether paper or electronic, are reviewed for accuracy, compliance and completeness then prepared, edited and entered precisely. Not to mention the fact that for privacy I make sure they self-destruct in 60 seconds. I'm going to bring HIPAA into the future age!
