About Shannon Rae Daugherty

My dream was always to be a mother. I had career goals as a child; star on Gilligan's island, taking my singing career from the fireplace hearth to the stage and/or to be the kind of teacher my kindergarten teacher was to her students. However, motherhood was much more important to me. We were blessed with three amazing boys that never cease to make me proud. When the youngest flew the coop and followed his dreams, my whole world was turned upside down. I had accomplished my mission. Now what? After soul searching and finally realizing I needed to do what we encouraged our boys to do, follow dreams. Those dreams brought us closer to the beach in Charleston, SC. My husband encouraged me to take some time to figure out what career path to follow next. I had already invested in a profession I fell into years ago. I concluded that I didn't want to give up all that time spent in property management. To describe myself, I need to solve problems. I need to lead a team. I thrive in that chaos called Property Management and can't imagine another career path that would satisfy me. I am so fortunate to have found a leader that teaches me every time we meet. I in turn try to pass that same value to the team I lead. I am their support system and I will walk in fire with them. It is a stressful industry that is thankless as most people have no clue of the pressures and responsibility required to manage properties. I am a dependable leader that will jump into any role to ensure our organization not only runs smoothly but is profitable. My role is to be creative with fresh ideas, supportive to my team, ensure we remain compliant to our policies and standards, and to be an essential part of our organization. Through my personal and professional challenges, I have discovered the place I am meant to be. I genuinely enjoy my career and my life!
