About Shannon Wolf

I have worked at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since 2008. My area of expertise is emergency nursing, as I have worked as a bedside RN in the ED, and advanced my career to become an integrated part of the ED leadership team. My current role is a nursing professional development specialist. Within this role I work with other colleagues to develop new and existing staff in their roles. I previously worked as an education nurse specialist for the ED at CHOP. As an educator for the ED I focused on optimizing clinical development with the use of hands on training, medical simulation, real-time clinical feedback. I have recently taken on some instructional design responsibilities including video development, script writing for virtual reality, and interactive module development. My areas of expertise include-trauma -resuscitation -pediatric emergency nursing -simulation -orientation -precepting -QAPI -DKA/diabetic acute illness (Pediatric)-ultrasound PIV -nurse planning -AHA Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI)-articulate -camtasia Outside of Children’s Hospital, I work as a simulation nurse educator at the University of Pennsylvania school of nursing. I have worked with this team since 2014. My students are sophomore and junior students in their pediatric rotations to facilitate and debrief clinical simulation scenarios.
