Shantha is a Lawyer with a rich experience of over 30 years in corporate and commercial advisory and practice, general litigation and arbitration and is a Senior Partner of Law Offices of India. Shantha has an expertise in handling diverse litigation ranging in the areas of employment laws, property laws, recovery laws, labour laws, insolvency laws, consumer protection laws, insurance laws, intellectual property laws with an edge in arbitration laws. She is well acquainted with myriads of law and applies that skill in advising the business organizations on contracts and agreements, issues arising out of commercial disputes, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, compliance and insolvency laws. She has successfully represented various companies and organizations in their arbitration disputes before eminent former hon’ble supreme court and high court judges, apart from cases wherein she herself has been appointed as a sole arbitrator to adjudicate the dispute between corporates. She is frequently invited by corporates, digital media houses and other forums and platforms to speak on service laws, arbitration, motor & marine insurance laws, environment, land laws and other topics of public importance. Most recently she spoke as a panelist in a webinar conducted by NIPM and also in virtual inauguration of Agriculture Chapter of Australia India Business Council, Sydney. She was also recently invited to speak on “Invocation and 2019 Amendments in Arbitration Act” by a huge corporate in Delhi. She has handled hundreds of cases in various courts and has numerous reported and unreported judgements to her credit. She believes in giving back to society and hence takes up legal issues by way of public interest litigation before the hon’ble courts for betterment of society. She has been on the Advisory Board of a magazine namely “Quality World” which is a useful guide to the corporate world. She has been felicitated by “Bhartiya Bhasha Abhiyaan” in “Women Advocate’s Conference.” She was also awarded with “Empowered Women Award 2020” by YMCA on Women’s Day.
